NEA Phase 2: New Business Start-Up Support

We work with customers thinking about self-employment for the first time. The support we offer includes, but is not limited to:

New Business Start-Ups: Advice and training to assist individuals with starting and running their own business, ensuring a successful transition off-benefits, including support from a designated business mentor to help with:

  • Designing a business model
  • Assessment of business skills
  • Developing a marketing strategy
  • Book keeping
  • Finding and applying for funding
  • Sales skills and customer service
  • Creating a business plan
  • Covid-19 safe working practices
  • Financial Support of up to £1,274 is available in this scheme for each business owner

Eligibility Criteria:

  • New Business Start-Ups
  • Aged 18 and over claiming any of the following:
  1. Jobseekers Allowance
  2. Employment Support Allowance
  3. Income Support
  4. Universal Credit
  5. National Insurance contributions only
